New Research Apprentice Recruited for 2014

The latest member of the SDRC research staff joins the Center this January 2014. A part-time faculty member with the Behavioral Sciences Department of the College of Liberal Arts, Crisanto Q. Regadio, or Cris, is currently assisting in the research activities of two projects: the  AusAID and UNFPA Philippines funded study on “Sexual and Reproductive Health of Women with Disability in the Philippines: Building Evidence for Action”, and the UNILAB Foundation-funded study on “From the Margins to the Mainstream of Society: Transforming the Lives of Workers with Exceptionality, their Co-Workers, Business, Corporate Practices, Policies, and the Workplace.”

Cris previously taught with Our Lady of Fatima University in Valenzuela, Bulacan; Far Eastern University-East Asia College; and at Adamson University Manila, where he was twice awarded the University President’s Special Recognition for Engagement and Outstanding Commitment to Academic Service Learning (ASL). He is a member of the Philippine Sociological Society, the Ugnayang Pang-Agham Tao, and the Philippine Historical Association. Presently pursuing a Ph.D. in Sociology at DLSU, Cris says the degree will “help me crystallize my sociological understanding, the concepts and ideas not only for academic endeavors like instruction or research activities” but more importantly “help to promote more dynamic, sustainable and progressive human and social development, specially to the most disadvantaged and marginalized, to fully realize my social responsibility.”
